About Hayes Haven

Located in the heart of Saskatchewan, in the historical community of Indian Head, Hayes Haven offers those that choose to call it home, a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. The town’s proximity to the Qu’Appelle Valley allows for beautiful scenic drives throughout the year. Indian Head Hospital is a minute away and emergency assistance is always as prompt as possible with ambulance service located within the town. Driving about the town, one enjoys watching children and families at the pool, waterpark, skatepark and community gardens. There is always lots to see in the summer with the beautifully treed yards and parks. We are also close enough to Regina so special trips are arranged when the times allow. The casino and shopping are a few of the places residents have chosen to visit in the past.

When moving into Hayes Haven, new residents are encouraged to bring their own special ‘homey’ items. This is your home, make it as you like it. Pictures on walls is promoted; we fill and paint every room prior to anyone moving in. At Hayes Haven you become our ‘family’! We encourage all residents to live each day to the fullest. Staff are committed to making your day a happy one. Our priority is you, the resident. When health care needs change and more care is required, Hayes staff will meet your needs to the best of their ability. If your needs are beyond what Hayes can safely manage, we will contact homecare to ensure you always receive adequate care.

At Hayes Haven, residents are encouraged to remain as independent as possible. As the saying goes, “If you don’t use it, you lose it!” Our staff are always available to guide and assist residents as needed.

Residents choose Hayes Haven for a variety of reasons, including:
- They are no longer comfortable living independently.
- They would prefer assistance with medication rather than managing it on their own.
- They want the peace of mind of knowing that help is available 24/7 and that they are not alone.
- They require assistance with bathing.
- They appreciate having nutritious meals prepared for them.
- They would like their private spaces cleaned daily and their laundry cared for.
- They enjoy the social atmosphere and participating in scheduled activities.

Care Needs Hayes Haven Can Safely Support:

Hayes Haven is not staffed to safely care for residents who are unable to ambulate or need constant assistance to transfer. Residents who require a mechanical lift or significant assistance to transfer or move about may require a higher level of care than we can provide.

Our community is designed for residents who want to be here and are able to participate safely in the social environment. Individuals who exhibit exit-seeking or wandering behaviours that cannot be safely managed within our setting may require increased level of care.

We can accommodate residents at various stages of Alzheimer’s and dementia, provided they are able to communicate and follow direction. As these conditions progress, a resident’s care needs may increase beyond what Hayes Haven can safely provide.

If the care needs of your friend or family member change while they are living at Hayes Haven, the Director will maintain ongoing communication with the family or support person to discuss those changes and determine whether Hayes Haven can continue to safely meet their needs.
