Hayes Haven is a non-profit charitable corporation dedicated to providing quality care for senior citizens in a safe, friendly, home environment. Residents enjoy the security of friendly staff, ready and prepared to assist whenever necessary on a 24 hour basis.
Hayes Haven employs kind, educated staff fulfilling all obligations with respect to licensing requirements of Saskatchewan Health.
Opening in 2000, Hayes Haven has now been home to over 140 individuals. Lengths of stay vary; Hayes works very closely with homecare to ensure all needs of the resident can be met. Should the needs increase and exceed our staff capabilities, homecare will assist in the transition into advanced care.
Under the license, each resident is required to have a homecare assessment. Updates to this assessment are required every 2 years thereafter. Should the resident not have the initial assessment upon entry to Hayes Haven arrangements for this shall be initiated.
Hayes Haven is a home first and foremost! All residents are encouraged to decorate their room with their own personal effects and furniture. Hayes does provide a 39 inch bed with box spring and mattress, dresser, night table, chair, and waste basket. These can be used if convenient for the resident.
Each suite has its own bedroom, sitting area and private 4 piece bath. Call lines in each area provide immediate response from a care assistant should the need present itself.
Telephone and satellite/cable outlets can be found in each room also.
Personal laundry is washed separately by Hayes staff, however should the resident wish to do his/her own. that is also possible. Bedding and towels are provided, though personal special toiletries are the responsibility of the individual.
Delicious, home cooked prepared meals are provided 3 times daily. Snacks and beverages are always available from the server window. Our cooks strive to meet all your dietary needs and follow Canada’s Food Guide. The menu is prepared on a rotating monthly schedule - special meals are sometimes substituted depending on the events of the day! Meals are served in the dining area encouraging socialization and conversation; only during illness are meals delivered to individual rooms.
Water is refreshed daily in each resident room as our main water is softened.
Weekly visits by a local professional beautician can be arranged for your personal needs. Hayes was designed with the ease and comfort of the individual in mind.
Medications must be stored in a locked cabinet area in the office unless written authorization by the resident’s physician is received providing direction regarding self-administration. Should the resident retain his/her own medications, they must be maintained in a locked container in his/her room.
Cost of medication and other specialized medical care needs is the responsibility of the individual or support person.
Scheduled transportation within Indian Head is provided. Staff will attend with the resident to doctor appointments should the support person be unavailable. All other transport is the responsibility of the support individuals.
Effective July 2016, personal electric mobility devices for use outdoors will no longer be allowed.
Should a resident relocate or cease to live at Hayes Haven, the calculated portion of fees for the unused days in the month once the personal effects have been removed will be refunded.
The resident and / or support person shall be responsible for any malicious action of the resident resulting in damage to the property. The cost of replacement repairs will be charged. The resident will obtain approval from management prior to any alteration or additions to the premises.
Monthly fees for service are due on the first of each month.
Included in your fee are the following:
Personal suite, common areas
Grounds and facilities including use of gymnasium for special events
All meals and snacks
Local transportation
Laundry services
Personal care on a 24 hour basis
Housekeeping
$10,000.00 resident floater insurance coverage on room contents.
($500.00 deductible)
